Featuring 2000 still images, 'The Street' is prompted by an excerpt of Georges Perec’s 'Species of Spaces' publication. In the excerpt, Perec methodically recounts the diverse elements one encounters within public streets such as traffic lights, buildings, graffiti, modes of transport, crossings, intersections, numbers, signs and pedestrians. These segments became the ongoing stimulus for my film. His systematic explanation of the street inspired me to create a sensory journey, where one pedestrian becomes enveloped within the bustling realm of the street.
